While I understand why "Stompin' Chomp" can't be relied on as an official name, this enemy ''does'' have an official English name, which ''is'' present right there in the level's title, which is just "Chomp" — this is also backed up by both the Nintendo Power and Prima guides, as mentioned by LinkTheLefty in the above discussion. It unfortunately seems that while this enemy has an official name, it's a pretty indistinct one, which we actually have precedent for from the same game, in fact, with [[Gargantua Blargg (tall)]].
