So, this page states that Leyden's assistant became chief right before linking the island. However, I'm not entirely sure if that's the case? Like, he might just be taking on the work of the chief without gaining the title itself… doesn't help that his name is just "Leyden's assistant" (implying an assistant role even after this plot point) and Leyden has a side quest all about PR plans. But yeah, I've been confused on this plot point for a while now, and since this page got made I thought I'd better bring it up. And yes, I'm aware of Leyden's comment on being chief for too long and such since I put it on his wiki page. Just not sure if it's a "you're chief right now!" situation or "you'll be made chief someday soon and I'll prepare to step down" situation. :Update: I discussed this on the discord, Leyden has this line of dialogue: "I'd be bored if I up and retired. Instead, we'll do this thing together, father and son!" So at the very least, Leyden is still chief. It's unclear if his assistant also has the title or remains his, well, assistant. I'm just removing Leyden's assistant from the infobox for now, but I'd still like to discuss this further so I'll keep the talk template up for now. ::This was something I was unsure of myself when I was writing the article, and I had planned to look more into it later if someone else didn't correct it or bring it up. Anyway, I went back and talked to some of the NPCs on a save file right before the second trip to Fortress Zokket, and they still generally call him the "chief's assistant." Also, the green guy in the group of three says this: "When the chief's assistant sets his mind to something, he can get kind of intense. If it weren't for him being so high-strung, I'd say he might become our next chief!" With that in mind, I agree with removing him from the infobox. {{User:7feetunder/sig}} 21:04, December 10, 2024 (EST)
