:::Ummmmm, yeah, just because ''very specific instructions'' aren't in the "MarioWiki" or "Help" namespaces [[MarioWiki:Don't shoot your foot off|that ''doesn't'' make them optional]]. If they could be dismissed as "more like guidelines anyway", then what would be the point of writing them out in the first place? In fact, those infobox instructions were specifically made to stop these TPPs from happening all the time - we just didn't think we needed to make a whole bloody policy page about it. As for the full instructions (yeah, I know it was already quoted in part, but I'm not rewriting this edit-conflicted post anymore than I absolutely have to and I want this excerpt to really stand out anyway):

:::<blockquote>''A representative image of the character - ideally, artwork from the most recently released game. However, if the latest artwork is specialized for that game (i.e. the character's wearing sporting gear, driving a kart, etc.), an older image may be retained as the infobox image instead. Note that the infobox cannot be updated while a game is still upcoming: it can only be changed after the game is released.''</blockquote>
