Bowling Goonie doesn't have its own entry in either the ''Super Mario Advance 3'' or ''Yoshi's New Island'' Shogakukan books, but it's instead decribed within Hefty Goonie.

However, it appears to have its own name within in-game ''Yoshi's New Island'' data: "<tt>debu_aho_mushi</tt>" (basically "Fat Goon Bug"; compare Flightless Goonie). Since Bowling Goonie is encountered in the wild as well, this situation seems a bit similar to [[Coin Bandit]].
