As far as I can tell, there is nothing that directly states or implies that Bombites are based on/derived from Bob-ombs. Not Nintendo Power, not the Player's Guide, not The Legend of Zelda: Encyclopedia, not The Great Hyrule Encyclopedia, not the instruction manuals. It seems the wiki just assumes the connection exists based on the enemy's design. :To be honest, it's kinda weird that this article exists here anyway. It's a Zelda creature that basically never appeared in a single Mario title, and the only justification for why it gets to stay is... it only appears in Link's Awakening (which we allow an article here since it's regarded as a guest appearance, as it's riddled with actual Mario series cameos), and it kind of resembles a Bob-omb. But that makes one question why Tarin doesn't have an article, since he similarly resembles Mario.<br>The whole thing reminds me of the Togezo being covered on our Spiny article as if it's the same thing too, which I honestly find to be a stretch (though Doc at least gave some justification here). 16:07, July 19, 2024 (EDT) | :To be honest, it's kinda weird that this article exists here anyway. ::Given all the Mario characters and enemies in Link's Awakening, it's frankly puzzling that Nintendo made these store brand knockoffs in the first place instead of just putting actual Bob-ombs in the game. Either way, this article is unnecessary. It's a Zelda enemy, not a Mario enemy. Their blatant resemblance to Bob-ombs doesn't change that. If they appeared in an actual Mario game, that would justify having an article on them, but they don't. It warrants a mention in Bob-omb's "other appearances" section, and that's it. 12:47, July 20, 2024 (EDT) | ::Given all the Mario characters and enemies in Link's Awakening, it's frankly puzzling that Nintendo made these store brand knockoffs in the first place instead of just putting actual Bob-ombs in the game.
