:::Considering that most of the information were moved to that articles, we would be getting repeats, and I don't think that's a good idea. You'll also have to enact changes to the Galaxy pages (look at Good Egg Galaxy and Honeyhive Galaxy). You'll have to negotiate with those involved in those changes, which do include Time Turner and RandomYoshi (and me) as far as I know. I don't agree with restoring the information since it will run into a consistency problem with other articles that do have level details reserved for separate articles such as World 1 (New Super Mario Bros.). 21:16, 23 June 2016 (EDT)

::::I oppose the split; 64/Sunshine/Galaxy missions are not like levels in a world, which exist as separate entities with their own individual layouts. 64/S/G missions are just different objectives to complete in one level, with the exception of stuff like the "secret" sub-levels in Sunshine. Splitting them off is like giving each Golden Banana in Donkey Kong 64 its own article. 21:59, 23 June 2016 (EDT)

:::::Unlike the Golden Bananas, though, these missions, despite the similar layouts, are still individual named levels. Golden Bananas and Power Stars do share some elements in common, which include being major required collectibles, but Power Stars often end the level (though bonus ones exist including the 100-coin reward and that one Toad gives out) while Golden Bananas are rewards and scattered throughout a level. The important thing is that we're not giving Power Stars their articles, we are giving missions the articles and note the path Mario takes to obtain it and the differences in the mission. Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine are not open-world games. Most, if not all missions, thanks to the level design, usually have Mario follow a relatively linear path so there is no reason those missions should not be full articles. Anyway, I just found out that we do have a policy on this and a collab dedicated to splitting these articles and remerging them would run against them. You'll have to discuss that in the forum link I provided or via a proposal, though I wouldn't count on it: the owner, Porplemontage, has made the policy in the first place and he has all authority to decide to remerge them or not. 19:28, 24 June 2016 (EDT)

::::::Point taken. I do understand the reasoning, particularly for Galaxy missions since those frequently only allow you to explore certain parts of the level during one or two missions, making them more like levels in a world. One thing I don't understand however, and pardon me if I am straying somewhat from what's relevant to this particular article, is why we need separate articles for missions in one-star galaxies, like Loopdeeloop Galaxy and Sweet Sweet Galaxy. It's redundant and unnecessary; the missions are synonymous with the levels themselves. Isn't this why we don't have separate articles for most Donkey Kong Country boss stages, like Very Gnawty's Lair? 20:25, 24 June 2016 (EDT)

:::::::Probably for consistency and it might be a good idea to describe the level in galaxy article and then have the mission article go into detail on tasks Mario does. Otherwise, they're there only for the sake of completeness. Not very strong, mind you, but it's not a horrible set up: fortunately, worlds with one missions aren't that common. 20:08, 25 June 2016 (EDT)

"The" Bob-omb Battlefield?
I only just now noticed this as I'm splitting Meta Crystal from the Super Smash Bros. stage list, but apparently we consistently refer to this level as "the Bob-omb Battlefield" instead of simply "Bob-Omb Battlefield", and likewise for "the Hazy Maze Cave", "the Tower of the Wing Cap" and "the Cavern of the Metal Cap". While the latter two sort of make sense, why exactly do we refer to BOB and HMC with "the" and not any other stages? "The" here just seems inconsistent compared to how we usually handle properly named stages. DrippingYellow (talk) 14:25, September 7, 2024 (EDT)
:The Super Mario 64 Player's Guide refers to those courses as "the Bob-omb Battlefield" and "the Hazy Maze Cave." Dwhitney (talk) 15:22, September 7, 2024 (EDT)
:: Yeah, but we should be going with in-game stuff, not the player's guide. It's why I changed all mentions of Bowser's Submarine to Bowser's Sub after all. PrincessPeachFan (talk) 08:40, September 8, 2024 (EDT)
::: Deleted all of the "the"'s from both this page and Hazy Maze Cave. After all, we don't refer to Royal Raceway as the Royal Raceway despite the Mario Kart 64 official strategy guide calling the track that. PrincessPeachFan (talk) 09:10, September 13, 2024 (EDT)
::::Shouldn't that need some in-game example sentences? Pretty sure the name of the battlefield doesn't come up in dialog. LinkTheLefty (talk) 13:56, October 10, 2024 (EDT)
:::::Do any of the many plaques in the painting's room allude to it? Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 14:01, October 10, 2024 (EDT)
::::::Not according to my SM64 reference dumps, but I did find this in SM64DS text:
You there, sir.
Watch out! It's dangerous
for you to be wandering
around here. You're in
the Bob-omb Battlefield!!
Hmm...
You sure don't look
dependable.
You'd better
go home. Your knees are
shaking!
I presume this is a line that a Bob-omb Buddy would say to Luigi, but either way, that ought to settle it, no? LinkTheLefty (talk) 15:00, October 10, 2024 (EDT)
:After seeing the thing on the talk page for Mayor Penguin's wife, I'm of the opinion that we shouldn't be using the text dump for this. If the game never says "the" Bob-Omb Battlefield in-game, then we shouldn't be using "the" as well. ::...a text dump is a collection of all the text in the game. Obviously. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 10:26, December 21, 2024 (EST)
