| Not trying to sound mean or anything, but the Bloopers in Sunshine may play a small role, but it is a very important one. THEY HELP MARIO GET THREE SHINE SPRITES, so if it wasn't for them, you would be three Shines short of completing the game. | Anybody know why the name was changed from Bloober to Blooper? I think that should be in the article if it's known.--130.215.248.164 23:38, 27 October 2014 (EDT)

| :Well...I'd say split, but the "flying out of water" function was adopted by normal bloopers in almost every game after TLL, and it's considered the same sprite in-game, so I'd say keep them merged. Somethingone (talk) 12:23, December 26, 2021 (EST)
| |
| :: Plus, there's the fact that the Super Mario Bros. Portal calls it "Sky Blooper" as in completely separate from regular Blooper, but again, almost every game has the flying out of water function so, nnnngh... | :::::I mean the one from New Super Mario Bros. that seems to be a one-time name for leaping Cheep Cheep, not to be confused with Tabepuku that's otherwise treated as a color variant. | == separate sky blooper from normal blooper ==
| |
| talk
| |
| First, the sky bloopers have a pink color, they are differentiated from the normal bloopers by being formally recognized as the variant that flies
| |
|
| |
| Furthermore, the fact that the bloopers fly has only been a video game resource since or else we could also say that the color splash cheep cheep or the cheep cheep and urchin from paper jam can also fly.
| |
|
| |
| In fact we have only seen floating non-flying bloopers, again this could again be a video game resource but this is more credible due to the current presentations of the bloopers
| |
|
| |
| already ending, the same Mario Portal sees them as separate enemiesSorbetti (talk)
| |
|
| |
| : Only problem is, as pointed out above, the flying out of function was adopted by normal Bloopers in almost every game since TLL. PrincessPeachFan (talk) 10:55, March 6, 2025 (EST)
| |
| ::Have we actually seen bloopers fly outside of Mario Maker and Paper Mario? (in which case all the water enemies "fly")Sorbetti (talk)
| |
| :::There's also the Mario Kart series Blooper item, but that's still far from "almost every game". Also, no? Cheep Cheeps don't fly in those games. They jump in Mario Maker and flop around on land in Paper Mario. That said, I think a split could make sense. Just because the ability to fly is adopted by regular Bloopers in some games doesn't mean otherwise, I'd say. Many games have Lakitus with fishing poles, but Fishin' Lakitus are still a different thing. And those don't even have a color difference to distinguish them. | :The only difference Sky Bloopers have from regular Bloopers is that their colors are different, but this trait is shared with most other enemies in Super Mario Bros and Lost Levels. What could a Sky Blooper article offer that isn't just repeating a the Blooper article for one game?--PopitTart (talk) 11:24, March 6, 2025 (EST)
| |
| ::their "only difference" is that while the bloopers are aquatic, the sky bloopers are from the sky, also the flying bloopers is a game resource, also used with other fish like cheeps cheeps in Paper jam as well as urchin, although I think that the bloopers can float, it is far from flying as such, that is what the sky bloopers are for, exclusive to the skySorbetti (talk)
