I therefore think that we should keep this page while also creating separate pages for Sport Bikes and Standard Bikes, now that they are officially disitnguished also in North American official material - and in the games' UI. I also think that we should use the terms ''drifting'' and ''commiting to the turn'' in place of the unofficial and inappropriate ''outside drifting'' and ''inside drifting'' terms, which would be mentioned the first time those two terms are introduced (e.g. ''Sport Bikes are peculiar because they commit to the turn, an action commonly and improperly referred to as inside drifting''). I would like to know your opinion on the matter.--[[User:Mister Wu|Mister Wu]] ([[User talk:Mister Wu|talk]]) 07:05, 5 April 2018 (EDT)

{{Proposal outcome|passed|7-0-0-0|Create pages for the ''Standard bike'' and ''Sport bike'' vehicle classes and limit the use of the unofficial ''inside drifting'' and ''outside drifting'' terms}}
From my points above, you can see how since ''Mario Kart 8'' bikes are officially split into ''sport bikes'' and ''standard bikes'' not only from a gameplay point of view, but also from a game UI point of view, with the PRIMA guide now officially naming both vehicle classes and describing the main difference between them. I therefore propose to create separate pages for them, leaving this as an overview page (which it pretty much already is).

The PRIMA guide and the Nintendo Official Guidebook of ''Mario Kart Wii'', as well as the PRIMA guide of ''Mario Kart 8'', also revealed that ''inside drifting'' and ''outside drifting'' were never official terms - after all the sport bikes do not drift at all, they commit to the turn when holding the jump button. Since those terms are popular but incorrect in describing the behavior of those vehicles, I also propose to replace them with the proper terms that describe what they actually do - drifting and commiting to the turn -, leaving just a single reference to those community-made terms in this page (and the {{fake link|Standard bike (vehicle class)}} and {{fake link|Sport bike (vehicle class)}} pages, should they be created).
