I think that Big Magikoopa should be moved to Giant Magikoopa because there are not any sources that indicate that it is their confirmed name. One such Big Magikoopa in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is referred to as "Giant Magikoopa", and Super Princess Peach refers to Kamek's Giant form as Giant Kamek, not by using the word "big".

EDIT: Voters are suggesting the idea for splitting the Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope Giant Magikoopa into its own page, as it is unique because it has Darkmess and new abilities. There is now a third option to create a new page for said Magikoopa. It's unique enough to receive its own article, like how Mega Goomba (boss) has its own article.

Change the name of the page to "Giant Magikoopa"
#Sparks Per proposal above.
#PrincessPeachFan Giant Magikoopa is technically speaking the newer name so it should be moved to that.

# Camwoodstock Now, hear us out here--we don't think you're wrong in asserting the Sparks of Hope Magikoopa is unique. But we don't think renaming this page is the way to go, for one key reason; in Mario Sports Superstars, a game which released within the last console generation (2017), they do name an ordinary large Magikoopa as "Big Magikoopa", so the generic name for these guys is probably still that. However, the Sparks of Hope Magikoopa's unique appearance and (from a glance, we never played that game) unique abilities, in addition with the Japanese name being entirely different and making zero such mention of size, we think what's probably better is if the Sparks of Hope "Giant Magikoopa" were split off from this article, rather than renaming this article to suit its needs, especially seeing as there are many more distinctive traits to him than just his above-average size. This is kind of an edge case, however, and we'd like to know if anyone else feels a split is better than renaming this.
Do nothing
#Tails777 While I could support this idea by saying we moved Shell Shocked to Tread Carefully after only one appearance with a new name (despite having two appearances prior under the original name, one being on the 3DS), I agree more with what Camwoodstock is saying in that its more of a unique case.

#Mariuigi Khed I feel that the "Giant" nominative is just to make it sound similar with the other Giant enemies in the game. Take the Goomba, in Italy (might be irrelevant, but the game was also developed here) all giant Goombas that have a boss status are referred to as "Mega Goomba", with the only exception for the M+RSOH one, since, I presume, it's because all giant bosses have "Giant" in their name. I think for the Magikoopa is the same thing (in English, since in Italy, it's still named "Giant Kamek" in other games and most big enemies are named "Giant [enemy name]", so no differences anyway). I'd keep it "Big". -- 13:15, November 3, 2023 (EDT)

#Sparks This option makes the most sense after hearing feedback from others. The Giant Magikoopa is unique enough to receive its own article, plus it is named "Dark Magikoopa" based on the Japanese translation.
#Hewer Per all.
#Camwoodstock ...Listen, you saw our giant vote we have since retracted in favor of this option, this is a suggestion we made ourselves and it's our personal pick for what we should do. This is kind of a strange edge case, as is the "Giant Goomba", and we think splitting the Sparks of Hope Magikoopa apart from the more standard Big Magikoopas is probably the most reasonable way of handling this--especially seeing as there's no way of telling if Nintendo would bother using Giant Magikoopa over the more standard Big Magikoopa next time they feature one of them anyhoo. Splitting Giant Goomba is probably out of the scope of this proposal, but we could also bear to split the Sparks of Hope Giant Goomba for similar rationale.
#Mariuigi Khed At first, I was going against this decision because... "come on, doesn't seem that necessary", but... we also, on the Wikia, took the decision to split bosses and species if there is a substantial difference. The aforementioned distinction between the Big Goomba species (Goomba gigante) and the Big Goomba bosses (Mega Goomba), for instance, that have distinctive names, same with the Big Boos: two distinct pages based on their role. Since the Big Magikoopas have been mostly enemies or one minibosses, would make sense to separate it from the bosses. Also, the fact that they have a different name in Japanese also helps. I'm pro on this decision.
#Tails777 Per Camwoodstock.
#MegaBowser64 yes.

Oh man. I went into this proposal thinking "They never used the word 'big' to describe this enemy and only used 'giant' instead." I can see so much opposition for this in the future, so I think the best way to handle this would be to cancel this proposal altogether to save everyone's time. If this kept going there would be a proposal for "Giant Goomba" later on down the road, and that would cause chaos and disruption. November 3, 2023, 12:29 (EDT)

:We wouldn't go as far as to say just cancel it immediately, y'know. We did mention that honestly, we feel like action of some sort is warranted, even if not necessarily an article rename. <small>plus it's currently 50/50 as we write these comments so y'know ;P</small> 12:34, November 3, 2023 (EDT)

::You're right. Let's see where this proposal goes. There might be more people who agree with me. If there is overwhelming opposition however, then this might get canceled. November 3, 2023, 12:41, (EDT)
:::You could also add an option to split the Sparks of Hope Giant Magikoopa like what has been suggested. 14:58, November 3, 2023 (EDT)
It seems the general consensus here would be to instead give the Giant Magikoopa from Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope its own page, and also give the Giant Goomba one as well. Am I allowed to change this proposal to splitting those articles? If so, then this would need to be a normal proposal rather than a talk page proposal. November 3, 2023, 15:06 (EDT)
:You can just add the splitting option to this proposal, I'm pretty sure it's allowed to stay a talk page proposal if it only concerns a couple of pages. 15:15, November 3, 2023 (EDT)
::It would work for giving the Giant Magikoopa its own page, but another talk page proposal would have to occur for the Giant Goomba. As for right now, this proposal is focused on the Giant Magikoopa, so I will add the split option for this proposal. The Giant Goomba proposal will happen eventually, but the Giant Magikoopa comes first. November 3, 2023, 15:19 (EDT)
:::Yeah, expanding the scope to affect multiples pages is probably a little a little out-of-the-scope for this proposal--see also our (as of writing, ongoing) proposal about that Hip Koopa filmography that, had we known other pages like it existed, we would've definitely made affect those as well. 16:17, November 3, 2023 (EDT)
::::Wait, what? You said it would affect all of them in the comments on that proposal. 05:51, November 4, 2023 (EDT)
:::::Wait, shoot, now we're confused--though y'know, this is probably a question best asked on that proposal, seeing as the question would in fact pertain to it in the first place. <s>we are writing this shortly after waking up can ya tell</s> 10:46, November 4, 2023 (EDT)
Just for clarification: This proposal is affecting the Big Magikoopa article only. The Big Goomba article is unaffected. There might be a proposal in the future for the Big Goomba, but this talk page proposal only affects the Big Magikoopa. Just wanted to clear things up for those who are confused. November 6, 2023, 10:37 (EDT)
