Super Sonic Downhill is a Dream Event in the DS Version Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games. This event is, unlike most other events, complete 2D and takes place on Trial Mountain. The player must ski down to the bottom while avoiding obstacles on their path. Barriers protect the player from obstacles whilst Mushrooms increase speed. If the player gets hit by obstacles a total of three times, they will retire and lose the event. The player with the best time at the end of the event is the winner. Dry Bowser is later fought here.

Supersonic Downhill is a Dream Skiing Dream Event that appears in the Nintendo DS version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games. The objective of the event is to reach the end of the course in the fastest time, with the event taking place on Trial Mountain. The starting course record for this event is 00:23.496.

Gameplay
In this event, the player starts automatically, and can accelerate using right on ds and jump by pressing ds. The player must aim to avoid the Brick Blocks along the course, as hitting one without a Barrier will cause their character to retire and record no time for the event. The player can pick up Barriers and Mushrooms which are scattered along the course, the former of which provides protection from one hit of a Brick Block on the course at the cost of speed, and the latter which can be collected to perform Mushroom Dashes by pressing ds. The player can hold up to five Mushrooms at a time and will gain a short boost of speed by performing a Mushroom Dash, however using up multiple Mushrooms at a time will not increase the speed boost received. The character that completes the course in the fastest time wins the event. Uniquely, this event takes place entirely in 2D, including the athlete introduction and awards ceremony.
