Smashdance is a 4-Player minigame in Mario Party 6. The name is a wordplay on the title of the 1983 movie Flashdance.
Smashdance is a 4-player mini-game in Mario Party 6. The name is a wordplay of the term Breakdance.

The only changes between day and night are aesthetic. At night, the statues are glowing, and there are purple flames on the torches. The daytime version does not have these features.

The Miracle Book has a page based on this minigame titled "Ground-pound Boogie." Mario and Luigi play the game, pounding the ground as the torches light up.

Introduction
The camera flies through some brush to show the players on a temple-like stage. The players are then surprised as the outer panels glow, followed by the inner panels, then the outer again.

Gameplay
Gameplay
The players must score points by ground-pounding the glowing panels. Each panel gives the player one point; when a panel fades to blue, it is a warning that it will fade out entirely soon after. When somebody ground-pounds a player, they stun the player for almost five seconds. The player(s) with the most points win(s).
All the players have to do is ground pound on one of the lighted tiles on the floor. Each tile gives the player 1 point; when the tile fades to blue it warns the player not to try doing it, because it will disappear soon. It also can be very frustrating because when somebody Ground Pounds on a player, the player cannot move for almost 5 seconds.

This minigame appears as the first minigame in Decathlon Park. Here, the player's objective is to smash as many glowing panels as possible within the time limit to earn as many points as possible, up to 1,000. The default record for this minigame in Decathlon Park is 10 points.

Ending
The players line up in the center, with the player(s) who won in front of the others. They then perform their winning and losing animations while the statues shake and the panels glow in a pattern once more.
