__NOTOC__ | |||
The Smash Ball is an item found in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U. In order to use its powers, the players have to actually attack the Smash Ball, to a certain extent, and break it open before use. All three of the Dragoon parts cannot coexist with the Smash Ball in play. Once the Dragoon is fired, the Smash Ball can be allowed to appear. By collecting it, the player can then trigger the character's Final Smash. To activate the Final Smash, the player must press the special move button, without any directional input. The item itself is a rainbow-colored emblem of the Super Smash Bros. series. After collecting the Smash Ball, the player's character will have a glowing aura around them. Additionally, the screen will dim a bit overall, excluding the glowing character. If the Smash Ball is present for a period of time without anyone receiving it, the Smash Ball will fly away and disappear until another one appears.
[[ | There is also a Pity Final Smash which is given to the losing player when a point of advantage has reached. When this has happened, the player will reappear after a KO in Final Smash stand-by mode.
[[ | |||
The player can also lose the Smash Ball after they have been attacked. If this happens, the Smash Ball comes loose from the player and starts flying about again. The player or another player can regain it by attacking it.

[[Category:Super Smash Bros. | In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, the Smash Ball has a slightly different design. Before the official announcement on Miiverse that Smash Balls would return, a Smash Ball (in its original design) can be seen in the Villager's newcomer illustration.

|A mighty item. Each character has a unique secret technique known as a Final Smash that can only be used when that character acquires a Smash Ball. Use it well, and you'll be one huge step closer to victory. It can turn the battle's tide, help you put the finishing touches on a complete thrashing, or even provide a chaotic finish that's sure to leave you laughing until you cry. | |||

|This item can truly turn the tide of battle. Once broken open, a character's Final Smash will be unlocked. If your opponent collects this, you'd better brace yourself for a powerful special move. This item is pretty durable and floats around the stage, so timing and position are key. | |||
