Sling Shys are troops who work for Valentina, they first appeared in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. Sling Shys are Shy Guys who dress exclusively in light green and, as the name implies use a sling shot as a weapon (which is more powerful than a regular Shy Guys sling shot). The only real difference between Shy Guys and Sling Shys (aside from power) is that Sling Shys are capable of using transformation magic, such as "S'crow Bell" (which can transform a party member into a Scarecrow) and "Spore Chimes" (which can transform a party member into a Mushroom).
Sling Shys were rather incompetent guards to Valentina as they had a habit of staring into her Pinwheels (robotic fan monsters).
