The game starts off with the series' protagonist, Shantae, in her Monkey form climbing up and down a tree. There is a gem bouncing on the ground in front of the tree. The objective of the game is for the player to get the gem, so that Shantae will get back to normal form and win the game. If Shantae misses the gem, the game automatically ends in a loss.
The microgame is based on the Shantae, a game that was developed by WayFoward in 2002 for the Game Boy Color and the sequel called Shantae: Risky's Revenge will be in the Nintendo DSi. The game starts off with the series' protagonist, Shantae, that is in her Monkey form & climbs up the tree. Occasionally, there will be a gem bouncing in the ground. The player has to tap the screen to make Shantae get the gem. The objective of the game is to get the gem, so that Shantae will get back to normal form to win the game and also see Shantae dancing. If Shantae misses the gem, the game automatically ends in a loss.

Description
*If Shantae gets the gem while halfway outside of the play area, she will do her victory dance, but it will count as a loss.

*In the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS retail versions of Shantae and the Pirate's Curse, there is a mini game called "Super Shantae Nab!!", which is an endless version of this microgame with some differences, such as having a second tree, <span class="plainlinks>Bats</span> to interfere, more areas to play on, and the gem being on a set pattern instead of bouncing everywhere.
