In an interview with Screen Rant, when asked if he would be reprising his role as Spike in [[Untitled The Super Mario Bros. Movie follow-up|the follow-up]] to ''The Super Mario Bros. In a Youtube video, he was asked if he would be reprising his role as Spike in [[Untitled The Super Mario Bros. Movie follow-up|the follow-up or sequel]] to ''The Super Mario Bros. Movie'', he shared a humorous story that he and his kids went to Universal Studios and tried to show his kids plush of his character, Spike, but the store didn't have a Spike plush but had plushies of every character, while also saying that he hasn't heard anything about returning as Spike for the sequel, which means he hasn't gotten a call from the producers and it is currently unknown if he will return as Spike in the sequel, or if Spike will appear at all.<ref>[https://screenrant.com/super-mario-bros-movie-2-foreman-spike-return-sebastian-maniscalco-response/]</ref>
