'''Satoru Okada''' is the former general manager of {{wp|Nintendo Research & Engineering}}, the division designing and developing [[Nintendo]] handheld game consoles. First working at [[Nintendo Research & Development 1]], he was the hardware designer of the [[Game & Watch]] series and the [[Game Boy]], and directed several of Nintendo R&D1's early console and handheld games, including ''[[metroidwiki:Metroid (game)|Metroid]]'' and ''[[Icaruspedia:Kid Icarus (game)|Kid Icarus]]''.

He was promoted to head of Nintendo Research & Engineering, where he oversaw the development of Nintendo's portable systems starting with the [[Game Boy Color]]. Satoru Okada retired after the release of the [[Nintendo DSi#Nintendo DSi XL|Nintendo DSi XL]].
