Trivia
* Saffron City is actually a city in the games Pokémon Red & Pokémon Blue. The town houses the sixth Gym Leader, as well as the Silph Building, where the stage is set.
* Saffron City is the only stage in Super Smash Bros. that did not return in Super Smash Bros. Melee, or have a stage that was extremely similar in Melee, however, some compare it to Fourside.
* Saffron City shares its name with a chef in Super Paper Mario.
