The game itself simulates a swing in any ''Mario Golf'' game that doesn't use motion controls. On the right there is a sketch of a [[Nintendo 64#Controller|Nintendo 64 controller]] with a fully colored and enlarged A button. On the bottom, there is a meter that is present in most ''Mario Golf'' games. The player has to click the previously mentioned A button in order to set the meter up. The player is told this through a paragraph on the right. The player's goal is to click the A button when the meter is over the red underline, which will cause the player to perform a "nice shot". If the player fails to do this, then the game will say that the player "duffed" the ball. These are accompanied with appropriate voice lines of [[Princess Peach]]. After the player swings, the game resets, allowing the player to try again. | ||
