Mario's Power Gauge is a gauge that appears in the Mario 3D series of games. When Mario touches an enemy or hazard, his gauge will drop. Depending on the hazard, a different number of points will be taken away. It has eight points in Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine, but in Super Mario Galaxy it has three but it can be raised to six with a Life Mushroom. In Super Mario Sunshine it is called the Shine Gauge, but it works the same way.
