The Poetry Book is an item in the PC release of Mario's Time Machine. It is apparently written by an unnamed poet in Padua circa 1610, who gives it to a time-traveling Mario after boasting about his poetry skills while rhyming throughout all of his dialogue. Meanwhile, a nearby man who is out on a date mentions that he wants to "wax poetic" (an idiom that refers to speaking in a grandiose fashion, but in this context, he meant that he literally wanted to read poetry). Thus, Mario gives the Poetry Book to the man, who thanks Mario and goes on to answer his questions about the Telescope in his possession.
