Moving platforms are solid objects that appear in the Sand Kingdom in Super Mario Odyssey. They have an appearance of a small inverted pyramid, commonly found floating on tracks. Moving platforms can be first encountered in the Tostarena Ruins, where they move on tracks from one position to the other. While traveling to the next island during the mission Moon Shards in the Sand, Mario rides a moving platform above the canyon. Unlike other moving platforms, the ones encountered in this mission start moving only when Mario steps on them. Moving platforms also connect this island with the rest of the kingdom after Mario obtains the Power Moon.
Β
In the sub-area during the mission The Hole in the Desert, moving platforms appear with ice on top of them. Unlike other moving platforms, they rotate while moving. One moving platform can also be found in the beginning of the Jaxi Driver sub-area.
