Can I add the German [https://marioforum.net Super Mario Forum]  to this page? If yes, which section? [[User:Semako|Semako]] ([[User talk:Semako|talk]]) 18:51, 17 January 2019 (EST)
== finalfantasywiki.com? ==
Is it ok if the wiki is added to affiliate links? It's a very big WIP and incomplete wiki (as is NIWA's Metroid Wiki to be honest), and for a big franchise, I think an independent wiki needs all the support that it can get for its amibition. Reason I'm asking here specifically is because ''Final Fantasy'' has related to ''Mario'' on occasion with the Hoops 3-on-3 and Sports Mix titles (and some SMRPG references). Grifkuba only wants to add an interwiki to Mario Wiki if this community is ok with it. Does this wiki give its permission? :Interwiki links from you to us is fine, if that's what you want to use. You don't really need to ask permission for that. From us to you, I'm open to it, but I think we need more support for that. {{User:Alex95/sig}} 18:57, March 12, 2021 (EST)
== Affiliating With Discord Servers ==
Hey guys, quick question. Do Mario Wiki affiliate with Discord servers, or is it mostly just websites, blogs and traditional forums? I'm kinda curious about that, since someone I know wondered if their WarioWare DIY server could be an affiliate, but they don't have a publically accessible website for it.
[[User:Cheat-master30|Cheat-master30]] 20:38, May 8, 2022 (GMT)
:We're affiliated with the 1-Up World discord but thar's mostly on the co-founder being one of our admins. I've passed on your question to the staff in the meantime. --[[User:Glowsquid|Glowsquid]] ([[User talk:Glowsquid|talk]]) 22:05, May 8, 2022 (EDT)

The "nintendoaddict" forum doesn't exist any more, and fusiongameworks(dot)net is automatically blocked by uBlock Origin on my end. Would anyone object to having these affiliate links removed? {{User:Koopa con Carne/Sig}} 15:22, December 11, 2022 (EST)
== Wario Ware fansite ==
Good evening. I would like my ''WarioWare'' fansite ([http://crygorcrisis.neocities.org]) to be mentioned on this MarioWiki page. Its name is [[Crygor]] Crisis. I spent so much time and effort into making that site, that it has a lot of goodies to explore into. Thanks. {{User:PnnyCrygr/sig}} 05:16, September 2, 2023 (EDT)
== Overhaul this page ==
{{Settled TPP}}
{{Proposal outcome|passed|6-0|Overhaul}}
I would just like to tell that this page, esp. the fansite links section, has not aged well. Websites have evolved over the years and probably some of the links featured in this page do not exist anymore.
I propose that this page belonging to the MarioWiki namespace '''be overhauled entirely''', like the fansites and affiliates sections featuring more newer sites; the dead-link sites would then be eliminated. In [[MarioWiki:Links#Affiliates]], there are banners. Banners are no longer used in the internet mainstream, so they probably may be replaced by regular links instead. Otherwise, this affiliates section is inconsistant; there are banners AND piped links in the same section!
And I'd like to tell for a second choice: Maybe '''only the official sites section could be revamped'''. This section supposedly listing "every single ''Super Mario''-related official site" horribly pads the page, and some newer game websites are not mentioned in there, e.g. Mario Wonder and WarioWare Move It. The layouting for the list is messed up; it is a mess of "America:" and "Asia Pacific:" and would better be displayed as some sort of table with such region names as the headers. Like this intentionally-incomplete mock-up (the sites themselves can also be found on the game's article page):
{| border=1 cellspacing=0 cellpadding=3 style="border-collapse:collapse"
|-
! Game !! Americas !! Asia Pacific !! Europe
|-
| ''[[Super Mario Bros. Wonder]]''
|| [https://supermariobroswonder.nintendo.com/ North America]<br>
|| [https://www.nintendo.co.jp/switch/aqmxa/ Japan] [https://store-jp.nintendo.com/list/software/70010000068687.html (My Nintendo)]
|| [https://www.nintendo.co.uk/Games/Nintendo-Switch-games/Super-Mario-Bros-Wonder-2404150.html United Kingdom]<br>[https://www.nintendo.de/Spiele/Nintendo-Switch-Spiele/Super-Mario-Bros-Wonder-2404150.html Germany]
|}
Or maybe just '''delete "Official sites"'''; if not too redundant, these sites can be found under the "External links" section of their respective games' article. That's the third choice.
Specifically, what this proposal concerns is this under-used page, which needs to be updated to fit the more contemporary times.

'''Deadline''': January 10, 2024, 23:59 GMT
===Overhaul this page entirely===
#{{User|PnnyCrygr}} Per this.
#{{User|Somethingone}} Per proposal, especially with how dated it looks; the "official sites" section is a multi-column list (which looks jarring on mobile) sorted alpha-numerically instead of chronologically or by sub-series, for one. And to add to the banner issue, it uses a banner ''and'' a link for each site there, instead of just some sites using banners and others using links. Not just inconsistent, it is redundant. And there's a random Super Mario Wiki section at the bottom.
#{{User|Super Game Gear}} Per proposer.
#{{User|Camwoodstock}} Per all. This thing desperately needs some work, fixing deadlinks to point to Internet Archive links and, as we mentioned in the comments, ''whatever the hey is happening'' in the fansites area.
#{{User|Mario}} Prune inactive fansites due to their volatile tendencies and link rot. See [[MarioWiki_talk:Links#Fansites_Removal]], see Camwoodstocks' comments of this proposal. We overhauled it in 2015, problems persist. I don't want MarioWiki to have links to virus porn sites.
#{{User|Hewer}} I feel like getting rid of this page would be the better solution at this point but this is still better than nothing so per all.
===Overhaul "Official sites" section only===
===Delete "Official sites" section===
===Do nothing===
===Comments===
While updating the official site links to potentially point to the wayback machine and also add sites for newer games is one thing (and personally, we feel that should just be done regardless of the proposal--a good portion of those deadlinks are likely because of just, the ever-changing nature of the Nintendo website), we feel like there should be an option to overhaul the fansites section in specific, because to be honest here, that section is way more overdue for a re-viewing than the official sites are. A few sites we should likely either reconsider or prune outright, just from a cursory glance:
* Mario Series Character Guide was last updated in ''2007''. This thing is a fossil, and it's frankly lucky to still exist; we actually chucked this at the Wayback Machine for good measure.
* Video Game Memorabilia Museum is dead, full stop.
* Mario Monsters has been dormant since 2013. It's not defunct, but it seems like it's on death's door.
* marioparty.de was last updated in 2021. Maybe concerning, but it's certainly not as bad as others here.
* USA Advance is an Angelfire site from '''2001'''. We cannot find when it last updated. We threw it at the Wayback Machine, too.
* Super Mario Community ''seems'' to have been last updated in 2021? There's a bit of a language barrier here and a lack of obvious dates.
* WikiGames is even deader; it literally only exists as a 404 page on Google Sites.
* Wii's World seems to have ship of theseus'd itself into being about... online casinos. This is an extremely rare sentence for a proposal: we think we have a ''legal obligation'' to remove this, because the idea of having a link to a website that regularly shills online gambling is '''''bad'''''.
* Mario Kart Boards is dead.
While repairing the Official sites section is time-consuming, it's also fairly trivial. There's, um, no fixing Wii's World up there... ;P {{User:Camwoodstock/sig}} 15:48, December 27, 2023 (EST)
I absolutely agree that something needs to be done here, but I don't like the vagueness of the first option. What exactly would this "overhaul" entail? What specific links do you want added and removed? {{User:Hewer/sig}} 22:02, December 27, 2023 (EST)
:Uh, the links that are outdated and/or redirect to an HTTP 404 should be removed. Links that could be added are more recent fan-sites and Mario related subreddits. {{User:PnnyCrygr/sig}} 02:37, December 28, 2023 (EST)
Is this page worth maintaining. {{User:Mario/sig}} 22:43, December 29, 2023 (EST)
:In a word? No. [[User:Doc von Schmeltwick|Doc von Schmeltwick]] ([[User talk:Doc von Schmeltwick|talk]]) 20:01, December 31, 2023 (EST)
