Editing MarioWiki talk:Extended Marioverse

I disagree with the terminology on this page. For instance, the relationship between Link and Mario should not be considered the same as the relationship between Banjo and Mario. Mario and Link appear in two separate continuities, that are only linked together by the non-canon Super Smash Bros series. However, Mario and Banjo are linked together by the canon game "Diddy Kong Racing". 

Of course, in order to avoid unecessary confusion, some set of accepted criteria should be decided upon in determining what games are canon and what aren't. This is the criteria I use:  The game must not contradict other games and it must have some type of story. - Alph

Link appeared in [[Super Mario RPG|SMRPG]] as a cameo, so Smash Bros. is not his first appearence in the Marioverse. same goes for Samus. [[User:Maxlover2|Maxlover2]]

I have attempted to define this. If I am wrong, feel free to correct me.

Any character or object that does not exist in the real world but appears in the Mario world and another video game, the other video game is part of the extended Marioverse.

The ultra-mega-extended Marioverse would be huge, because suppose Megaman appeared in a Link game. Since Link appears in Mario games, Hyrule and the Mushroom World are connected. And since Megaman appears in Hyrule, Mega Man's world is connected to Hyrule. So, Mega Man would be part of the Extended Marioverse, too.

In one Zelda game, there was a girl who had a Bowser head necklace. This would NOT be enough to connect Hyrule and the Mushroom World.

If there was a Goomba walking around, it WOULD be enough.

Example: Pikmin, is NOT part of the Marioverse, despite Captain Olimar. Captain Olimar is NOT Mario, despite how much he resemples him.

Any appearance of an object that has something Mario on it, i.e. Mt. Rushmore carved as Mario characters (forget the specific game), Donkey Kong Arcade machine (Star Wars) are NOT enough to make them part of the extended Marioverse.

-No,they are not part of the marioverse because this is a very minor cameo.Does the chatacters acknowledge the existence of the Pikmins in any way?No. If I was using your logic,Elebit would be a part of the Gradius-verse because there 2 Gradius cameo in that game.(Sorry,could'nt think of a better example.)
