:Neither of those are really frequently asked. All that happens when a sockpuppet is made to evade an infinite ban is that the sockpuppet gets deleted, and that doesn't happen very often in relation to other offenses because few users are brazen enough to think they can get away with it (which they can't), and I believe it's on another page, but when it is deemed necessary to promote someone to admin status, he or she gets it based on present performance rather than on past action. {{User:Mario4Ever/sig}}

Well, I am completely baffled.  So I can actually visit the [[Special:CreateAccount|account creation page]] (don't worry, I haven't been sockpuppeting), and I now see an extra parameter titled "Reason", and for the description it says "''Why you are creating another account''".  Why is this parameter even there if sockpuppeting is off-limits, and why can registered users visit the page anyway? ::Yeah, it's a trust thing. If regular users were given blocking powers, this site would be thrown into chaos. Users who sign up purely to vandalize will receive an indefinite block. Active users who made mistakes will be given warnings, followed by a 2 week -> 3 month -> indefinite ban (yes, we are sticking to that).
