| I don't see what about that entry is BJAODN worthy? The Japanese name is "Fokin", and as obscene as that entry is it seems like a fine translation. And the comment says "Yes, it's the same word.", but it's not? Searching up both of those terms brings up different things (フォーク brings up fork, ファッキン brings up the f-word). | :I think it's precisely the unneeded association with the word "fucking" that the editor who added the entry found humour in; of note is that said association has since been removed from the original page for making little sense. The comment though, I agree, is confusing. 21:16, March 13, 2022 (EDT)

| == Redefining for all species? ==

| I've been thinking of renaming and redefining this collection for all species and not just enemies. As it stands currently, we have friendly, neutral, and even some non-"game enemy" antagonistic species in the Characters section. This makes some sense, but feels off for certain entries—especially the "Bonecoaster". The Characters section is also getting a little long, and this concept would trim it down some.
| |
| | |
| If we go through with my idea, we'd have to move the Alien (Club Nintendo), Beanbean Guard, Blue Yoshi, Bonecoaster, Brown Yoshi, Crow, Dromedary, Eevee, Emoglobin, False Bowser, Koopa Kid, Metroid (species), Mii, Mole (Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars), Noki, Penguin, People who looked remarkably like Mallow, Pianta, Subcon (species), Toad (species), and Whittle entries to the renamed and redefined page. The Luma entry may actually be referring to Baby Luma, so I'm not sure what to do with that one.
| |
| | |
| We'd also have to move the Bowser Monument, Koopa Troop, and Pak E. Derm out of this collection, but that shouldn't be a problem: the Bowser Monument and Pak E. Derm could easily be moved to Characters, and I suppose we could move the Koopa Troop to the Other section. | :I should add that Peewee Piranha was added to this collection despite being a unique individual and not a species (its mention by Viridi in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate notwithstanding). Bosses that are unique characters rather than species have been inconsistently placed in this collection or Characters in the past (most of them have been moved to the latter), so a redefinition for all species may resolve this issue for any future boss entries. | I'm a bit on the fence. If we redefined this for all species, then this page might get overloaded quickly, since it already has over 100 entries. On the other hand, I do agree that the character collection is also full of non-enemy species that fit better as its own category, and the character collection is even more overloaded with over 150 entries. I suppose I could support this, but I'm not sure how it will go in the long run. 22:31, June 7, 2024 (EDT)

| :I don't think adding non-"game enemy" species would cause this collection to grow too much faster than it already has been. If this and/or Characters are to become overloaded, we could just divide the pages alphabetically like we do with List of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door quotes. My main goal with redefining this collection isn't to slightly shrink the Characters collection; that's just a bonus. | More than half a year later, still unresolved... I think that for now, we could make a BJAODN collection page for non-enemy species, then decide at a later point whether or not we merge the enemies collection with it. After all, this wiki also has separate lists for both species and enemies (even if both lists appear to have some overlap). 13:39, February 12, 2025 (EST)
| |
| :That sounds like a workable idea. I'll put together a concept page in my sandbox when I have time. 13:46, February 12, 2025 (EST)
| |
| ::On a side note, I've been thinking if we could perhaps make a collection of non-character bosses (as in, characters that are exclusively bosses and don't (typically) play a role in a story, nor have been playable in other games). I dunno, it's a bit weird to consider Arukaroten on the same level as someone more pivotal such as Antasma (probably one reason why Peewee Piranha is incorrectly listed here in the Enemies collection in the first place), and it would help compressing the Character collection a bit too. 11:13, February 14, 2025 (EST)
