This article is incredibly short for a game with a lot of content, so we decided to investigate why. The most important '''glaring''' weakness this article is the '''lack of item information'''. Something basic like [[Cork Block]]s, [[Coin]]s, [[Red Coin]]s, [[Blue Coin]]s, [[! Switch]]es, [[! Block]]s, and [[1-Up Mushroom]]s are nowhere to be found in this article (except for a red coin maze for Rainbow Ride's description). That failure to cover a basic game mechanic alone warrants this article immediately unfeatured. Second, the abilities and courses are told in bare-bones description. Compare this to [[Super Mario 64 DS]]. This article has one-liners for each world while the remake's article has locations for all stars, including secrets. Finally, the trivia section, as indicated by the template, is too long.
