Throughout many episodes of the Australian sketch comedy ''{{wp|You're Skitting Me}}'', [[Mario]] and [[Luigi]] can be seen having many comical disputes over various situations. The Bros. (Hayden McKertish as Mario and Rowan Hills as Luigi) own a plumbing company. During parts of the skit, 8-bit music similar to the ''[[Super Mario Bros. 3]]'' overworld theme can be heard in the background.

In one episode, Mario and Luigi's agent Tracy Murray (played by Cosmo Renfree) says that after thirty years, the Mario Bros. are losing their touch. The "phones aren't ringing anymore" in the plumbing company, and Tracey says that the whole plumbing thing in a complete waste of their talent. He suggests that they need a new look in order to "get with the times" and to "get back into the game". Luigi is in favor of the idea, saying that it could be their big chance, but Mario is unsure, as he thinks their plumbing career is going well enough. Luigi suddenly gets mad at Mario, saying that he "wants to smash his head on to a [[Brick Block|Brick]]", and he is "not even looking for a [[List of Power-Ups|Power-Up]]". Mario finally gives in, and says that it is worth giving a go. Agent Tracey then says that he will get some fashion consultants in and bring in some stylists to do something with their hair, but first and foremost, he wants to get rid of their "ridiculous mustaches". He brings out some razor blades and places them on the desk. Mario, crossing his arms and shaking his head, is strongly against the idea, but Luigi says that they have to if they want to get with the times. Mario still refuses, leading Luigi to pick up the razor blade off the desk and point it towards Mario's face. He says softly but firmly, "You shave your mustache". Mario then replies with "I no shave my mustache!". The dispute between them goes on for another few minutes, and agent Tracy tells them to stop arguing. 

The next scene of the episode interviews the actors of the show and asks for their opinions of the last skit. They discuss whether Mario should shave his mustache or not. Some of the opinions given by the actors are "it's the only thing keeping him going" (Molly Daniels), "what is Mario without the mustache?" (Cosmo Renfree), "it's the reason I like him" (Jake Fehily), and "I think the mustache should shave off Mario" (Cosmo Renfree).
