This level is a remixed version of Level 3-DK, but the level has a completely different layout featuring several disintegrating sand platforms stacked on each other to allow the player to reach Donkey Kong. There are also two Thwomp Platforms, one on both sides of the stage, that the player can use as an additional platform. In the remake, the layout of this level has been completely overhauled. There are now only four sand block platforms on the floor, and a majority of the sand blocks surrounding Donkey Kong have been removed. A few semisolid platforms are added (which vaguely resemble the original platform layout of Level 3-DK) to make it possible for the player to still attack Donkey Kong even if all sand blocks have been disintegrated. After the player wins the boss battle, the sand blocks over the lava pits will reappear as well.

Donkey Kong attacks by throwing down barrels and lava rocks, which bounce on any remaining disintegrating platforms and land on the ground or into the lava below. The disintegrating platforms will disappear when either the player, a barrel, a Thwomp Platform, or a lava rock touches it. Getting crushed by a Thwomp Platform or falling into the lava will result in an immediate loss. The player will need to either avoid the lava rocks, or deflect them with a Handstand. When tossing barrels, Donkey Kong will cycle between tossing a barrel that flips vertically as it falls, one that rolls on its side as it falls, and throwing a barrel directly downward. Barrels that flip vertically and barrels that are thrown downward will always land upright, but barrels that roll on their side will fall through the ground into the lava. However, barrels that roll sideways can be deflected upright with a Handstand. Once a barrel lands upright, the player can pick it up and throw the barrel at Donkey Kong when they are on one of the higher platforms. Throwing four barrels at Donkey Kong will defeat him. He will then leave and the player will enter Spooky House Plus (Merry Mini-Land Plus in the remake).
