Koopa Troopa Beach, formerly titled simply Koopa Beach, is a sports stadium taking place at a beach in Mario Hoops 3-on-3 and Mario Sports Mix. It is a playable court in the Mushroom Tourney and the Mushroom Cup, respectively.

History[edit]

Mario Hoops 3-on-3[edit]

Koopa Beach appears as the second court of the Mushroom Tourney in Mario Hoops 3-on-3. The only hazards are bombs sometimes shot out from a pirate ship on the water in the background, and if a player gets hit by a bomb, they drop the ball and collapse. Any players in the shallow water travel slower.

The background has two surfboards with an M and L emblem on them respectively. There are no Koopas on the field, despite the title, only a Green Shell backboard. Peach Field is visible in the distance.

Mario Sports Mix[edit]

Sport(s) available Dodgeball, Basketball, Hockey (unlockable), Volleyball

In Mario Sports Mix, Koopa Troopa Beach is one of the stadiums where any of the sports can be played. In basketball, volleyball, and dodgeball, Koopa Troopa Beach is the second court in the Mushroom Cup, and can be played from the start. However, the hockey version is part of the Extra Cup and the player needs to unlock it by using alternate paths in the Hockey Tournament Mode.

Unlike the previous game, there are no hazards. However, the only gimmick are the constant waves, which bring both Green Shells and Coins ashore for players to use. It is not possible for ? Panels to appear on the court, leaving Green Shells the only available items here.

Birdos, Koopa Troopas, Miis and Piantas are spectators in the background.

Notes[edit]

  • It is possible that Koopa Beach is a throwback to the Koopa Beach courses, Koopa Beach 1 and Koopa Beach 2 from Super Mario Kart.
  • In Mario Sports Mix's Volleyball mode, this is one of the two stages to change the volleyball's color, in this case, blue. The other is Western Junction, which uses a green volleyball.
