'''K. Lumsy's Prison''',<ref>The ''Donkey Kong 64'' Player's Guide foldout.</ref> or '''K. Lumsy's Island''',<ref>{{cite|author=Barton, Jeff, Mario De Govia, and Donato Tica|title=''Donkey Kong 64'' Prima's Official Strategy Guide|page=14|publisher=[[Prima Games]]|date=December 1, 1999|isbn=0-7615-2279-4|language=en-us}}</ref><ref>{{cite|deadlink=y|archive=web.archive.org/web/20000304171035/http://www.nintendo.com:80/n64/donkeykong64/dkisles.html|title=''Donkey Kong 64'' Banana Guide - "DK Isles"|publisher=Nintendo.com|accessdate=June 2, 2024|language=en-us}}</ref> is a dome-like structure in ''[[Donkey Kong 64]]'' where [[K. Lumsy]] is imprisoned during most of the game's events. The interior is much larger than the exterior, and the main part of it is the giant cage with K. Lumsy. Two [[Golden Banana]]s can be obtained here, both by [[Lanky Kong]] only: The first one can be obtained outside the prison with his [[Grape Shooter]], while the second can be obtained inside with [[OrangStand Sprint]]. K. Lumsy's Prison is later seen in the ending, when K. Rool is launched into the prison by [[Funky Kong]], and though it is not shown, it is implied that K. Rool is beaten by K. Lumsy.

In an unused, extended [[Game Over]] cutscene, for unknown reasons, K. Lumsy's Prison appears at the end, where the player is spawned at the entrance and can jump in place.<ref>{{cite|author=Digital media resources|date=January 30, 2020|url=youtu.be/tDrYm7Xjzys?t=98|timestamp=1:38|title=Donkey Kong 64 - Game Over <nowiki>[extended ending]</nowiki>|publisher=YouTube|accessdate=June 2, 2024}}</ref>
After leaving [[DK's Tree House|his tree house]], [[Donkey Kong]] decided to swim over to and investigate the large mechanical island [[King K. Rool]] had parked next to [[Donkey Kong Island|Kong Isle]]. Climbing onto the smaller island with a cave, Donkey ventured inside of it and found the giant Kremling in his equally giant cage.

Seeing he had a visitor, K. Lumsy decided to tell DK his sad story. After he had refused an order to attack Kong Isle, King K. Rool had K. Lumsy imprisoned in a small island towed behind the larger, mechanical one. After hearing this story, Donkey Kong, being the kind-hearted ape he is, decided to help K. Lumsy escape. Hearing that Donkey Kong was going to help him caused the giant reptile to jump for joy; all this commotion caused the entrance to the game's first area, [[Jungle Japes]], to open.

After defeating every boss in the game (minus King Krusha K. Rool), the [[Kong]]s will be awarded with a [[Boss Key|large key]] which can be used to take one of the eight locks off K. Lumsy's cage. After freeing K. Lumsy of his prison and shutting down K. Rool's [[Blast-o-Matic]], a short cutscene of K. Lumsy leaving his island and knocking [[King Kruiser II|K. Rool's unnamed airship]] out of the sky will be shown. Also, when the Kongs defeat King Krusha K. Rool, he will be sent flying, courtesy of [[Funky Kong]] and a rocket-launcher. K. Rool will crash land on K. Lumsy's Prison where he is apparently beaten to a pulp by an angry K. Lumsy (who is back in it without explanation).

The island is fairly unremarkable, though it does contain two [[Golden Banana]]s on it. The first Golden Banana can only be accessed with [[Lanky Kong]] and his [[Grape Shooter]]. The second is inside the island and is only obtainable by using Lanky and his special move [[OrangSprint]].
