Metalheads are lone dungeon dwellers found in Stage 2 of Virtual Boy Wario Land. They are shorter than Wario, the game's protagonist, and sport three sharp horns on their heads. Overall, they have a coarse aspect, featuring unkempt locks of hair and donning ripped and thick pieces of cloth as coats. Each Metalhead has one of its eyes hidden behind the long hair.
Horned spearmen are enemies found exclusively in Stage 2 of Virtual Boy Wario Land. They have two bull-like horns and one spike on their heads, and shaggy hair partially covering their faces.

Horned spearmen stay behind sealed wooden doors, waiting for Wario to approach their hiding spot. If he walks close enough, horned spearmen will break through the door and begin to look around before charging into Wario with their spear. Wario can simply dodge the enemies by jumping over them. If they hit Wario or he jumps on top of their heads, he will take damage.
Metalheads are as unruly and wild as their appearance tells. They stay behind sealed wooden doors, waiting for Wario to approach their hiding spot. If the main character walks close enough, Metalheads break through the door and begin to attentively look around them before charging into Wario with a javelin. Wario can simply dodge the foes by jumping over them, as they continue to walk in the desired direction for a short time, after which they stop, scrutinize the area like before, and try to hunt down Wario again. If they manage to drill Wario with their pointy weapons, or if Wario hops onto their sharp horns, he gets shrunk down to Tiny Wario; if he is already in this form, he loses a life.

Due to their horns, Wario is unable to defeat them with a body slam. Instead, he must Barge into them when their backs are turned, or bump into a horned spearman so he can pick up and throw it at another enemy.
Since their heads are permanently equipped with horns, they can never be pounded. However, Metalheads do not defend themselves with their javelins when looking around. In this state, they are open to any of Wario's Dash Attacks, which will grant them instant defeat. They also never cover their back sides when using their javelins and can thus be barged from behind with the same attack. An alternative way to defeat a Metalhead is to bump into one and immobilize it, further heaving and throwing it into another enemy, the latter which will also get knocked down.
