| In Dr. Mario World, Wario is a playable doctor under the alias Dr. Wario, which coincidentally is the same name as the Dr. Wario minigame in WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! In stage mode, Dr. Wario's skill is represented by him opening a treasure chest containing diamonds and capsules labeled with his W emblem, where it increases the number of capsules by three in normal stages or increases the timer by six seconds in challenge stages after activating it. In versus mode, Dr. Wario's skill is to temporarily lock the opponent's attack meter, preventing it from filling it up, making it so that they can only normally attack by eliminating all viruses in their play area while this effect is active. The effect lasts longer at higher levels, starting from three seconds at level 1, followed by five, seven and nine seconds for levels 2 to 4 respectively. Level 5's duration is the same effect as level 4, but the skill meter charges faster instead. | | In Dr. Mario World, Wario is a playable doctor under the alias Dr. Wario. | In Gold, Wario steals a golden pot from Luxeville, but he has also run out of money and is looking for a way to make some quickly. After seeing the success of Super Pyoro, Wario comes up with the idea of the Wario Bowl, a tournament of microgames. Contestants must each pay ten thousand coins and only the person who completes every stage, including defeating Wario for the last stage, can win ten million coins. Wario calls his friends to make games for the tournament, and minus a misdial to the octoblazooka, they all accept. Wario heads to Diamond City Stadium to run the tournament along with the Alien Bunnies. At the opening, Lulu announces she plans to confront Wario, but Wario brushes this off completely. The player is one of the competitors of the Wario Bowl. | | In Gold, Wario steals a golden pot from Luxeville, but he has also run out of money and is looking for a way to make some quickly. However, he is unaware that a girl named Lulu plans to confront him for stealing the golden pot. |

| Wario hosts the first stage for the Mash League, Twist League, and Touch League. These stages are dubbed "Wario's Mash warm-up", "Wario's Twist warm-up", and "Wario's Touch warm-up". They contain Wario's microgames, all of the Intro Games genre. As such, they are easier than other microgames as they serve to introduce the controls. Wario himself thinks they are so easy that beating his stages is not a real accomplishment. As always, Wario has a key role in all of his microgames. The intros for each stage have Wario explain the controls, and their epilogues point the player to the next stage of the relevant league. The epilogue is different for the first of the three warm-ups the player completes, as Wario also introduces the player to how the Wario Bowl also involves playing the microgames of Wario's friends.
| | As the player completes stages, Wario appears in several intermission scenes that play after completing a certain number of stages. |

|
| For the intermissions of Wario's stages, Wario sits in his chair on top of a jumbotron. The colors of stage and speakers depend on the league: Yellow for Mash League, Blue for Twist League, and Pink for Touch League. Microgames occur on the jumbotron's screen. Wario cheers on successes and falls over on failures.
| | After the player beats both Ultra League challenges, Wario reveals that he claimed the prize money for himself, and wears the pot on his head as a crown. This engulfs Diamond City in darkness as Wario turns into Wario Deluxe and challenges the player. After completing 10 microgames, Wario Deluxe uses lightning to hide the control scheme for the next four microgames. Following these microgames, Wario Deluxe taunts the player that they can always give up, but he is interrupted by Lulu, who clings onto the pot and attempts to wrestle it off of his head. |

| As the player completes stages, Wario appears in several intermission scenes, taking place in the stadium. The first has him bathe in the collected coins from the entrance fees. The second has him wake up from a nap only to learn that competitors have completed eight of the stages. This angers him so much that he resorts to napping again. The last occurs only after completing every stage of the Mash, Twist, and Touch Leagues. Wario announces the existence of the final Ultra League by bungee jumping at Diamond City Stadium.
| | After the player completes Wario Deluxe's stage, Lulu uses her Hydrocannon LX to spray the pot off of Wario Deluxe's head, turning him back into Wario. When Wario finds out that the pot was the only chamber pot in Luxeville, he laughs and tells Lulu to take the pot. Wario tells everyone to leave, but finds that his friends have followed him to the stadium, wanting their share of the money. Wario desperately claims the money for himself and tries to run off, but trips and is promptly restrained by Young Cricket. When Wario's friends find out that there is little money in the suitcase, Wario reveals that he spent most of the money on the balloons he used as Wario Deluxe. Wario's friends then split the remaining money evenly, much to his chagrin. |

| After the player beats the first two stages of the Ultra League, the player can reach the final stage to confront Wario. However, this is not Wario's stage. Rather, it is Wario Deluxe's stage. In it, when the player meets Wario, he reveals that he claimed the prize money for himself. With the help of an Alien Bunny, he wears the Pot of Luxville on his head as a crown. This causes dark clouds to form all across Diamond City as Wario turns into Wario Deluxe. He challenges the player in this form. Lulu helps the player defeat Wario Deluxe, thus completing the final stage and winning the Wario Bowl.

| After completing Wario Deluxe's stage, Lulu uses her Hydrocannon LX to spray the pot off of Wario Deluxe's head, turning him back into Wario. Lulu explains that the Pot of Luxville is a chamber pot for the city, which prompts him to laughs and let Lulu take the pot. Afterward, Wario tells everyone to leave, declaring the WarioWare Gold game to be over. His friends arrive at the stadium at this point, wanting their share of the Wario Bowl money. Wario desperately claims the money for himself and tries to run off, but trips and drops the suitcase. Young Cricket leaps over to restrain him, and everyone else gets access to the suitcase. They find that there is little money left, with Wario blurting out that part of the cash was used to buy the balloons that Wario Deluxe used. Wario's friends then split the remaining money evenly between themselves and the player, much to Wario's chagrin.

| Wario hosts the Challenge mode WarioWatch, which reimplements the WarioWatch and WarioWatch II microgame sets from WarioWare: Touched!. As before, the mode has the player under a single long time limit for all the microgames, with the means of regaining time being to successfully clear microgames. It takes place at a track and field stadium in the day. The Close Shave mode reduces the starting time heavily, and takes place at sunset. WarioWatch can be played in all three of the game's inputs, as well as Ultra to play with all the microgames.
