In the intro to Wario's stage (titled "Stone-Cold Welcome"), he is seen hastily disembarking from the boat to Caresaway Island and is greeted by islanders, who offer him a pair of [[Form Stones]]. Unimpressed, Wario throws the stones and accidentally hits a parrot, which sets off a chain of events that send him hurtling off into the jungle. He lands in front of a shrine and is immediately chased by a group of tribal characters known as the [[Woods Watchers]]. In the outro, Wario escapes the Woods Watchers by falling off a cliff, luckily landing on the same parrot he had hit earlier, which is able to carry him off into the island.

Wario makes a brief appearance in the ending of "A Curious Case of Cave Art", where he notices the cave paintings of [[Dr. Crygor]], [[Penny]], and [[Mike]] that were drawn by the [[Caresawayan]], which he stares at in befuddlement.

In the final stage, "Lava at First Sight", Wario is seen sneaking into the shrine at [[Perspiration Peak Volcano]] and attempts to steal the gold housed within. However, after removing a large gold statue from its pedestal, a giant hand made of lava rises out and grabs him, pulling him down and causing him to merge with the volcano itself. As [[Volcano Wario]], he begins to erupt, putting the island and everyone on it at risk. However, the volcano is calmed thanks to the combined dancing efforts of Wario's friends and the other islanders, and Wario is ejected back into the shrine. He ends up stuck in the pedestal he tried to remove the statue from, and is soon worshipped as a god by the Woods Watchers, much to his dismay.

In the ending sequence, Wario is seen wearing a flower crown and dancing on the beach with others, implying he did escape the pedestal eventually.
