While Toads have been sidekicks in previous Mario Strikers games, the main Toad is the first one to be selectable as a captain in Mario Strikers: Battle League. His team number is 12. His strongest attributes are his speed and passing attributes; without any gear applied on any characters, he has the highest speed statistic in the game. However, Toad is one of the three characters with the lowest strength attribute (the others being Waluigi and Diddy.) His Hyper Strike, Drill Smash, involves Toad kicking the ball into the air, and four other Toads appearing next to him and tossing him into the air. The playable Toad then headbutts the ball into the ground, where it will burrow underground until it reappears in front of the opposing team's goalie.
