The Hillside Cave is the first secret area located in Bianco Hills in Super Mario Sunshine. The cave can be located and entered any time after and including Episode 3 in Bianco Hills. To reach the secret area, Mario must jump across the lake and hills using the help of tether ropes. Without the help of the F.L.U.D.D., Mario must resort to his natural skills to pass this area. Mario must master the Wall Jump to pass the first block of the area.

The inside of the secret area has many other different traps including small orange blocks, giant glass blocks, and spinning star-shaped platforms. Like all other secret areas, Mario can use the F.L.U.D.D. if he clears the area for the first time.
