Giant Red Shells are Items found in many of the Mario games. In Super Mario Bros. 3, the red shelled Gargantua Koopa Troopas wear these giant shells, instead of wearing normal Red Shells. These large Koopas would not walk off the edge, unlike the Gargantua Koopas with Green Shells. Instead, they would turn around, and walk on solid ground. Mario could simply jump on these oversized Koopas, and they would hide in their shell, just like a normal Koopa Troopa. Mario could throw these shells, which will then smash into other enemies.
Giant Red Shellsref needed are items found in some Super Mario games. In Super Mario Bros. 3, Red Giant Koopa Troopas wear these giant shells; Mario or Luigi can jump on these oversized Koopas, making them retreat in their shell. As with other Koopa shells, they can also be picked up and kicked.

They return in New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Luigi U, where they serve the same purpose, though they break through normal-sized Brick Blocks rather than rebounding.
In Super Mario Strikers and Mario Strikers Charged, Giant Red Shells, as well as their smaller counterparts, are items that players can use. When collected, Giant Red Shells could be shot at the opposing players. It would then home into one of the opposing team members, and spin over him/her, which will squsih them, thus, knocking them out for a short while. However, it will only home in once, and after it hits its target, it will just spin around the stage randomly, unlike the normal Red Shells, which home into multiple players, but only hit once.

In Super Mario Maker, Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS, and Super Mario Maker 2, if the player shakes a green Koopa Troopa and turns it red, then give it a Super Mushroom, it will turn into a Big Red Koopa Troopa, and when stomped on, will hide in its shell. These shells work as they do in the New Super Mario Bros. games, though they can also break through Hard Blocks without bouncing off, but they cannot be picked up.

Giant Red Shells make a return in the Mario Strikers series as an item, along with their smaller counterparts. Working similarly to their smaller counterparts from the Mario Kart series, they can be collected and fired. The item homes into opposing team members, squishing and stunning them for a short while. After hitting its target, it randomly bounces around the stage until it wears out.
