The Genius Girl is one of the most mysterious character in the game, and almost the most mysterious character of all of Mario franchise. But fans never asked who is she, why does she exist, and what's the point of her?
Well Its because a theorist came up of a theory that could be true. She's the hidden antagonist of the game.
The SupaMerge is capable of creating two things in one, but in one of the screens, it shows wormholes to another dimension. Indicating the Genius Girl is trying to rip into other dimensions. Which explains why the Mario universe and Rabbid universe collided.
The SupaMerge seems to bend or break time also, which is why it affected the Time Washing Machine. The MegaBug appeared in the wormhole into the newly Mario/Rabbid universe, as the screens predicted the wormholes. Since the SupaMerge has been overheating, it's because the MegaBug represents the corruption in the overheated SupaMerge. It's speculating that the MegaBug has been there before the game has even started, and the Genius Girl is preventing it. Or is she?
If the SupaMerge is capable to merge to things in one, how is it going to fix an energy crisis? By ripping into other dimensions and replacing it with a "fixed" energy. But what's that gotta do with the MegaBug? Well if the MegaBug has been there since the beginning and causing the overheating to the SupaMerge, it's speculates that the rip is affecting the MegaBug, indicating that the MegaBug is creature from another dimension or between dimensions. But if the Genius Girl wants to fix an energy crisis, does she mean replacing it, or destroying it? If she can get her hands on the MegaBug, if she can encounter it again and fix the SupaMerge from overheating, she can take control of it and either destroy or replace it. But if the MegaBug is filled with destruction, it's more likely the Genius Girl wants to destroy her world and replace it with a new one.
Making the Genius Girl the secret antagonist of the entire game and no one knows...
