==Composition==
The introduction of the theme has a {{wp|sea shanty}} feel, representing the pirate-esque appearance of the stage where the theme is originally heard, though it quickly segues into a more intense battle theme. The theme is loosely based on the [[Nintendo Entertainment System|NES]] port of the title theme from ''{{wp|Sid Meier's Pirates!}}'', another game developed by [[Rare]].

Before the theme's second section, a few monkey noises are also present. This cover incorporates a rap song describing [[King K. Rool]], one of the game's new fighters. 

The game also includes an arrangement of "Snakey Chantey" arranged by [[Kumi Tanioka]]. It has an orchestra march-like feel and incorporates the last sections of "Gang-Plank Galleon." Both of these arrangements can be played on any ''[[Donkey Kong (franchise)|Donkey Kong]]''- and ''[[Super Smash Bros. (series)|Super Smash Bros.]]''-series stage.
