The game acts as a short matching game, allowing the player to choose between four, six, nine, and sixteen pairs of cards to match. Each card has an image of a different LEGO ''Super Mario'' character. Matching all of the cards brings up a screen showing how long it took the player to complete the challenge, as well as asking if the player would like to play more. Selecting the latter option brings up a new menu suggesting alternate LEGO games that the player may enjoy, though there is another option on said screen that allows the player to play the game a second time. Selecting this option brings the player back to the main screen.
