'''Dream Snowboard Cross''' is an event in  ''[[Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games]]''. Players need to reach day 16 after defeating [[Eggman Nega]] or day 12 after defeating Jet to try this event. Unlike regular snowboard events, this features items. This event takes place at night at [[Radical Highway]], which is a stage from the ''[[SonicRetro:Sonic Adventure 2|Sonic Adventure 2]]''. Some parts of the stage are very similar to the original, while others were completely removed altogether to make it suitable for snowboarding. It is also impossible to fall off the course, even when grinding on the sides of the cable suspension bridge (with the exception of failing to go on the boost jump, which will result in either falling or flying through the air faster than normal, thus saving time). The player can also collect rings, and when getting enough, pressing the ''A'' button will give the player a boost, just like in [[Dream Alpine]], [[Dream Ski Cross]] and [[Dream Short Track]].

Dream Snowboard Cross also appears in the [[Nintendo DS|DS]] Version referred as '''Extreme Snowboarding''' but it does not take place on Radical Highway. In the version, the Player must snowboard 2 laps round a track. Its obstacles are a [[Chain Chomp]] and some [[Egg Pawn]]s. When jumping off ramps, the control pad is used to perform tricks to fill up a bar on the bottom right of the top screen. Tricks cannot be performed unless {{button|ds|B}} is pressed at the edge of the jump. Pressing {{button|ds|Y}} twice quickly uses the character's special dash and depletes the bar. A ghost can be used to steal some of the special dash time from other players in front.

Dream Snowboard Cross also appears in ''[[Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games]]'' under the name '''Groove Pipe Snowboard'''. This time around it takes place in [[Mushroom Bridge]] from ''[[Mario Kart: Double Dash!!]]''. The event has minor changes from the previous version. The first is that [[coin]]s will not give the player a special boost, instead gradually increasing speed. A second difference is there are 2 laps in this version rather than being one long pathway to the finish. Players can create trails on groove sections of the track to use later for speed boosts.
