With every hit, 5 points are added up to a score counter at the bottom of the screen. Another counter located next to the score tallies any missed Kremlings. [[Donkey Kong]] and [[Diddy Kong]] often appear along with the Kremlings and must be avoided, as hitting them depletes one of the player's hearts.
