Dinosaurs are reptilian creatures that have appeared in many Mario games. The variety of dinosaur species is very diverse. Dinosaurs live in all types of biomes which they are well suited for. Some dinosaurs may be very delicate and solemn. On the other hand some dinosaurs are very vicious and intelligent such as Reznor who also happens to have the deadly ability to spew fire balls. Many types of dinosaurs live on the Mushroom Planet. Dinosaurs also used to live in the real world for 165 million years, but have long been dead for 65 million years. This is because of the devastating effects of an asteroid that struck the Earth; today you can still see the fossils of the dinosaurs and other extinct animals.

Prehistoric nonavian Dinosaur have appeared in the Super Mario franchise. A few different dinosaur species exist in Mario's world, such as Yoshis, Birdos, and Rexes.

History
"Dino World"
Super Mario series
In the Super Mario Bros. live-action film, an alternate, unnamed version of Earth is revealed to exist; this parallel Earth was brought into creation when a meteorite struck the true Earth, causing spatial and dimensional disturbances, resulting in the creation of the alternate Earth, which the dinosaurs, at least those who weren't killed, and a few other creatures were flung to.
Super Mario World
Super Mario World takes place in Dinosaur Land, and is filled with many dinosaur-like creatures, such as Yoshis, Rexes, Reznors, Blarggs, and Dino-Rhinos.

Super Mario Odyssey
On this Earth, various types of dinosaurs evolved into humanoid creatures, though some, such as Yoshi, seemed to have retained their reptilian forms. Aside from one rundown city, Dinohattan, this Earth is a desert wasteland, lacking various resources.

In Super Mario Odyssey, T-Rexes appear sporadically, most notably in the Cascade Kingdom. The kingdom additionally features many dinosaur skeletons, most notably an enormous Triceratops.

Super Mario World television series
Notable Dinosaurs
In the Super Mario World television series, dinosaurs appear throughout. Aside from the ones in the game it is based on, several others appear, notably the evil dinosaur.

The Cowazaurus is briefly seen in the The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! episode Quest for Pizza. The Cowazaurus may be an ancestor of the cow for it also has an udder and black and white spots like a cow, hence the name.
In the Super Mario Bros. live-action film, an alternate, unnamed version of Earth is revealed to exist. This parallel Earth was brought into creation when the meteorite struck the true Earth 65 million years ago, causing spatial and dimensional disturbances, resulting in the creation of the alternate Earth. Some dinosaurs were then flung into this parallel world, while their kin went extinct on Earth.
