They cannot usually be defeated, and react to [[Stanley]]'s [[sprayer]] by stopping and swinging. The [[Super Sprayer]] is potent enough to defeat a Creepy in one hot. In [[greenhouse (blue)|blue]] and [[greenhouse (gray)|gray greenhouse]]s, Creepies crawl down vines and onto the platforms at the bottom of the screen. If it is sprayed enough before reaching the platform, the Creepy can be tricked into climbing up the vine for a short time; however, any Creepies that reaches a platform stays there until the round has ended. In the arcade version of the [[greenhouse (yellow)|yellow greenhouse]], three gray Creepies traverse the vines above Stanley and try to block his spray. In the [[Family Computer]] and [[Nintendo Entertainment System]] version, all Creepies are yellow. In later rounds, the number of Creepies increase; up to eight Creepies can be present in the arcade version's yellow greenhouse.
