This segment is the ''[[Club Mario]]'' segment that aired alongside ''[[The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!]]'' episode "[[Stars in Their Eyes]]," replacing the original live-action segment "[[Alligator Dundee (episode)|Alligator Dundee]]." This segment is notable for being the only segment to be almost entirely in black-and-white, with only the "satellite surfing" segments and bumpers being in color, simulating {{wp|film noir}}, a genre of films which was popular in the 1940s and 1950s. Tommy and Co-MC also adopt a more serious demeanor than is usually seen in the other ''Club Mario'' segments to fit the segment's theming.

==Plot synopsis==
The segment starts with the camera zoomed in to [[Tommy Treehugger]] at [[Club Mario (location)|Club Mario]], with everything being black-and-white. He, wearing a fedora and trenchcoat, then introduces himself to the viewer, before explaining that it is "black-and-white day." (explaining why everything it black-and-white) He asks the viewer if they know the difference between black-and-white and color before briefly "satellite surfing" to show the difference. He then provides the viewer a synopsis of ''[[The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!]]'' episode "[[Stars in Their Eyes]]," explaining that [[Bowser|King Koopa]] has [[Mario]] and his friend captive on the planet [[Quirk (planet)|Quirk]]. He asks [[Co-MC]] what he has to say about this, with the latter, who is also wearing a fedora and trenchcoat, rapping how terrible Koopa is for holding the Mario Bros. captive, though explains that they will prevail and send him to jail. Tommy then says that the viewer now understands what is happening, before switching the channel showing clips of ''{{wp|Dick Tracy's Dilemma}}''.

In the clips, two men in trenchcoats are seen, with one of them holding a revolver and the other with hook on his hand. The man with the revolver approaches the man with the hook, with the latter moving his hook closer to metal wires. The hook eventually connects, with the wires sending sparks everywhere. The scene then cuts to ''The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!''

After the show, Tommy explains that the Mario Bros. prevailed once again against King Koopa. He then asks Co-MC what is next on "black-and-white day," to which he responds, "''Satellite surfing.''" He then "satellite surfs" to a commercial advertising the "Trunk-O-Matic," which actually just an elephant. The advertiser, [[Ray J]], explains that it can do everything around the house, from vacuum cleaning, sprinkling, and watering plants. He continues on be explaining that it is a snorkel, a siphon, a smeller, and a blower, among many other things.

The scene then cuts back to Club Mario, where Co-MC explains that is the "ultimate in cool," and that they should experience it. He then asks Tommy what is next, to which he responds that it is ''{{iw|zeldawiki|The Legend of Zelda (TV Series)|The Legend of Zelda}}'' previews.

After the previews, Tommy mentions that the viewer is back, explaining that he and Co-MC are as well, making their club so "cool." He then mentions that it is time for a film review, to which Co-MC responds that it is ''{{wp|The Invisible Man (1933 film)|The Invisible Man}}'', which stars British and American actor {{wp|Claude Rains}}. The scene then cuts to the TV, which is showing clips of the aforementioned film.

In the clips, a police officer, who is at Mr. Hall's boarding house, declares his Invisible Man a hoax before walking up to the bar. The scene cuts to the titular man in a bedroom, where he proceeds to remove his glasses, robe, and bandages while saying that he realized the power he had to rule the world by being invisible. He then proceeds to turn off the lamp in his room.

Co-MC mentions that the film was "very cool," but is unable to rate it, as he could not see the Invisible Man. Tommy then commented that he was not impressed, though adds that the viewer might like it, as it is their opinion. He then mentions that is time to go "satellite surfing," which Co-MC agrees to. They then "satellite surf" to a show about wild boars. During the show, a zoo worker mentions that one of the pigs likes to go exploring, which is fine, as she is still a little child. Tommy and Co-MC then switch to show featuring a competition between an elephant pulling a group of people and the people pulling the elephant back.

After their "satellite surfing" session, Tommy thanks the viewer for attending "black-and-white day," explaining that it was a comnplete success and that they will see them again. He and Co-MC then say goodbye to the viewer, hoping them to see them again, "where the airwaves are [their] waves."

*This is the only segment where one of the hosts is shown disliking a film featured in the film rating segment, with Tommy mentioning that he was not impressed with ''{{wp|The Invisible Man (1933 film)|The Invisible Man}}''.
*Tommy and Co-MC saying "same club channel, same club time" is a play on a line said at the end of every episode of the cult {{wp|Batman (TV series)|''Batman'' television series}}.
