| :"Unlockable [thing]" categories are generally a poorly thought out concept because, as it stands, they are way too broad, accounting for multiple games at once. A recurring subject that may not share the same characteristic between two games, such as unlockability, cannot be indiscriminately categorised as such. [[Mario Kart Tour|Not even a typically default character, like Mario, has been exempt from this]]. Case in point, this page has gotten to the point where it basically covers every single course in the ''Mario Kart'' series except for the ones that have always been available from the start so far. ([[SNES Mario Circuit 1]], [[Wii Moo Moo Meadows]], and anything else that has only ever appeared in [[Mushroom Cup|Mushroom]] and [[Shell Cup]]s.) | ::I'd probably be in favor of deleting this category as well, it is a bit excessive and can even be a bit misleading if a course is not unlockable in its game of origin but is unlockable when its a retro course (maybe vice versa too). {{User:Swallow/sig}} 17:19, December 8, 2022 (EST)

| :::Agreed that the unlockable categories are pretty useless since they try to have the entire franchise as their scope. The distinction between unlockable content and normal game progression can be pretty blurred anyway. With that in mind, do you think it's time to make a proposal?
