| :According to the Minigame article, Free-for-All minigames are actually 4-player minigames, but they were renamed in MP9. So yes, i agree with you. 20:03, 1 September 2018 (EDT)

| ::If they're called "Free-for-All Minigames" in Mario Parties 9, 10, and Star Rush, but called 4-Player Minigames elsewhere, should probably stay how it is to avoid confusion. 20:12, 1 September 2018 (EDT)
| |
| :::Heavy overlap with Free-for-all, but we have a 4-player minigame that I argue isn't exactly "Free-for-all": Key-pa-Way. It isn't categorized as a free-for-all) and furthermore, Super Mario Party is going to reintroduce 4-player co-op minigames. I think we should wait until Super Mario Party is out. 20:26, 1 September 2018 (EDT)
| |
| ::::It's implied to be a regional difference, though, since the North American version seems to have "Free-for-All" and the European version seems to have "4-Player", as evidenced by Nintendo Treehouse and Nintendo UK. 21:01, 1 September 2018 (EDT)

| See discussion above. Now that Super Mario Party recategorizes the minigames where every player is pitted against each other as "4-player" (and I doubt it'll be any different in Mario Party Superstars), I think it's about time we merge :Category:Free-for-all minigames into this category. Though the reason I'm making a proposal out of this is because I'm actually simultaneously proposing a second merge to this category: :Category:General minigames. The reason I'm proposing this is because despite it being a category in Mario Party: Island Tour to denote it from the other minigames in the game, they're all really no different, as they still pit every single player against each other in the same way as other 4-player minigames in the series.

| ===Merge both categories===
| |
| #Archivist Toadette My preferred option.
| |
| #Hewer Per proposal, the way it is now doesn't make a lot of sense.
| |
| #Tails777 At the end of the day, all these mini-games are still 4-Player mini-games under a different name. I've always seen free-for-all mini-games as just a new name for 4-Player mini-games. So per proposal.
| |
| #ShootingStar7X Per proposal.
