'''Captain Falcon''' (full name '''Captain Douglas Jay Falcon''') is an F-Zero racer, and also a secret bounty hunter with a mysterious past. In the [[Super Smash Bros. (series)|''Super Smash Bros.'' series]], he appeared as a secret character in the first game, then returned as a default one in the [[Super Smash Bros. Melee|sequel]]. But in its sequel, [[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]], he appears as an unlockable character.

==''Super Smash Bros.'' Series==
In ''[[Super Smash Bros.]]'' and ''[[Super Smash Bros. Melee]]'', he is the fastest character. His attacks, however, despite being powerful, are slow. The only exception is his attack when repeatedly pressing the A button. In ''Super Smash Bros.'', he was an unlockable character, unlocked by beating 1-P Mode in under 20 minutes with any character, and then beating him. However, in ''Super Smash Bros. Melee'', he was a default character. He also added the attack, [[Raptor Boost]], in Melee.
Captain Falcon has a unique way of using weapons. For example, Captain Falcon is unable to smash the [[Sandbag]] away in ''Super Smash Bros. Melee''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s Home-Run Contest using the [[Homerun Bat]]. According to the [[trophy]] information of the [[Star Rod]], it has the most power when it is used with a Smash Attack of Captain Falcon or [[Sheik]]. Captain Falcon will appear as a playable character in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]'', but is no longer the fastest character in the game, being beaten only by [[Sonic the Hedgehog]]. He plays a role in The Subspace Emissary, apparently forming an alliance with [[Captain Olimar]] and later teaming with [[Donkey Kong]] and [[Diddy Kong]] to infiltrate a Subspace Army base.
Captain Falcon's fighting techniques are shared with [[Ganondorf]], who has similar abilites, but is slower and has more powerful attacks. Captain Falcon is voiced by ''Ryo Horikawa''.

*One of Captain Falcon's alternate costumes is that of his evil clone, Blood Falcon. He wears his red clothing, and even has a patch on his uniform saying "Blood Falcon".
*Although he didn't make a personal appearance, his F-Zero racer, the Blue Falcon, appeared in [[Toys#Nintendo_Monopoly|Nintendo Monopoly]]. It acted as a Station, replaced Pennsylvania Railroad, and costed $200, just like all stations.
