He tells [[Mario]] that the cannon is not ready and may take a while to fix. It will not be ready for use by the player until after the scene where [[Shadow Mario]] kidnaps [[Princess Peach]] and flees to [[Pinna Park]]. After the cannon is unlocked, the Cannon Pianta is shown standing next to it. When Delfino Plaza is flooded after the entrance to [[Corona Mountain]] is unlocked, the Cannon Pianta uses a duck-shaped inner tube similar to those utilized by the [[duck-ring riders]] to stay afloat near the cannon.
