'''Brown Yoshis''' are a type of [[Yoshi (species)|Yoshi]]. Brown Yoshi appeared in ''[[Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island]]'' where he was playable in the sixth level of each world, and has made no appearance since. Of course, they appeared in a remake of their appearance, ''[[Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3]]''.

Brown Yoshi's only playable appearances were in ''Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island'' and ''Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3''. In ''Yoshi's Island'', Brown Yoshi has a red saddle and red shoes. In the remake, ''Super Mario Advance 3'', they wore red saddles again, but instead of red shoes, they wore darker brown shoes.

==Game Appearances==

As told earlier, Brown Yoshis appeared first in ''Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island'', and in it's remake.

One Brown Yoshi also cameoed in the game ''[[Yoshi's Story]]'', in the intro, already on the first page. That one appeared behind a [[Purple Yoshi]] (which cameoed too in that game), which wore cyan shoes. The Brown Yoshi self wore green shoes, although hard to see, due to the green grass. It almost has been considered the player can unlock these two, but that was not true.

Lastly, in ''[[Paper Mario]]'', there appears a Brown Yoshi that seems to be the right-hand man of the Yoshi [[Village Leader]]. It wore dark pink shoes. It could be male, but it can be a girl as well due to the bracelet on its arm and the way how it looks with it's eyes. If it's a girl, it's possible that it's the Village Leader's daughter.

==Confusion With Orange Yoshi==
Due to the absence of Brown Yoshis in recent games, and with Orange Yoshi instead, many have considered Brown Yoshi and Orange Yoshi the same character.
