In the original game, Brown Yoshi has a red saddle and red shoes. In the remake, Brown Yoshi wore a red saddle again, but instead of red shoes, he wore darker brown shoes.

Due to the absence of Brown Yoshis in recent games, and with the prevalence of [[Orange Yoshi]]s instead, many consider Brown Yoshi and Orange Yoshi to be one and the same.
